Health measures

The health and safety of our customers, partners and employees remains our top priority. At the 2022 AWS Summits, the following health measures will be in place. All attendees are required to comply with the health measures. Signage and additional staffing will be in place to support health measures. Revisions will be made in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and federal, state, and local requirements.
Measures are subject to review and may change in line with government guidelines.


Frequently asked questions

Do you require those attending the Summit to be vaccinated against COVID-19?

All badge holders at the AWS Summits will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or show a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test to attend the Summit in-person this year.


What date do I need to be vaccinated by to attend a 2022 AWS Summit?

Fully vaccinated is defined by the CDC as two weeks after a second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson ’ Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

For tests, an acceptable negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result from a third-party laboratory will need to be taken no more than 24 hours for an antigen test and 72 hours for a PCR test prior to check-in on the first day of the AWS Summit.Self-administered tests will not be accepted.


How do I verify my COVID-19 vaccination to attend the Summit?

Bring a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status to onsite check-in. Acceptable records include your physical COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card, a photo of the front and back of your vaccination/immunization card, or a digital verification from a smartphone application. The name on your vaccination record must match your government issued ID.

For negative tests bring a record of your COVID-19 negative antigen or PCR test result to onsite check-in to receive your event badge. Acceptable recodes include your physical COVID-10 antigen or PCR test result, a photo of your test result, or a digital verification from a smartphone application. The name of your test result must match your government-issued ID.


Will I also need to provide proof of a COVID-19 booster shot to attend the Summit?

Can I attend with proof of a negative COVID-19 test instead of proof of vaccination against COVID-19?

Yes. Badge holders who are attending the Summit who choose not to show a record of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are able to attend if the attendee provides a record of a negative COVID-19 test.
The name on the attendee’s test record must match their government-issued ID.

Will you accept record of a COVID-19 vaccine that is authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where I got my vaccine, but is not U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved or emergency use authorized (EUA)?

Yes. We will accept record of COVID-19 vaccinations authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where it was administered. Unless otherwise defined by your national health authority, we will consider you fully vaccinated two weeks after your second dose in a 2-dose series or single-dose vaccine.


Will you accept record of a mixed (heterologous) regime of COVID-19 vaccinations if authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where I got my vaccine?

Yes. If receiving two doses of different COVID-19 vaccine products is authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where they are administered, we will still consider you fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after your second dose in the 2-dose series.


Will exceptions to your COVID-19 vaccine requirement be accepted?

No. Exceptions cannot be accommodated. Those who cannot comply with the vaccine requirement can join a select number streamed sessions virtually or on-demand after the event.


Are masks required at the Summit?

 Every 2022 AWS Summit will set individual mask manadates. Mask mandates will be set in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations, acceptable masks include cloth masks made from multiple layers of washable, breathable fabric or disposable procedure or surgical masks made of multiple layers of non-woven material. Masks should completely cover your nose and mouth and fit snugly against the sides of the face. Attendees may provide their own masks that comply with this guidance or use masks provided at the 2022 AWS Summits. Face shields, bandannas, and masks with ventilation will not be allowed.


Will food and beverages still be offered?

Yes. Conference meals will be offered. We will follow all local and venue guidelines for service.


Will I be required to maintain 6-foot (2 meter) distancing from other attendees?

No. You will not be required to maintain 6-foot (2 meter) distancing during the event.


What happens if someone tests positive for COVID-19 following the Summit?

If you test positive for COVID-19, report your diagnosis to the local health authority. If a positive COVID-19 diagnosis is disclosed to AWS, contact tracing measures will be completed in partnership with health authorities. If you test positive for COVID-19, please follow guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for testing, isolation, masking, distancing, and seeking medical guidance. Please also report your diagnosis to the relevant public health department. If a positive COVID-19 diagnosis is disclosed to AWS during the Summit, we will suspend your in-person participation at the event and issue a full refund.
