Although advances have been made in reducing secondary analysis run times, data analysis continues to be a bottleneck for organizations as throughputs increase. Analyzing samples in sequence and manual provisioning of compute resources contribute to this constraint. To help genomics organizations optimize their workflows, AWS for Genomics offers a variety of AWS and AWS Partner workflow automation tools designed to help organizations leverage the benefits of the AWS Cloud, such as utilizing AWS’ scalable capacity to run multiple analyses in parallel and provisioning the appropriate quantity and type of compute resources. This tech talk will explore AWS’ portfolio of genomic workflow automation solutions, including the new Amazon Genomics CLI, a purpose-built tool designed to help genomics and life sciences customers process genomic data at petabyte scale. Additionally, we will detail additional AWS for Genomics solutions, including Partner offerings as well as Cromwell on AWS and Nextflow on AWS, and cover varying implementation paths.
Learning Objectives
- Learn how AWS native services and solutions like Amazon Genomics CLI can help genomics organizations efficiently run experiments without the need for deep expertise
- Understand how to leverage open source and APN partner solutions such as Nextflow and Cromwell on AWS
- Hear how customers are leveraging AWS for workflow automation to help expedite analytical run times and scale to accommodate larger data sets in highly secure, modular environments
