Overview

Start your cloud migration journey with AWS. Join AWS experts to hear how you can leverage AWS CDK modules to migrate existing AWS CloudFormation stacks to CDK code, dive deep into the design and implementation differences to consider when migrating from self-managed Kubernetes to Amazon EKS, and learn to use AWS CodePipeline to orchestrate each step in your release process and plug in additional services to complete your software delivery. In these intermediate to advanced webinars, we share how you can build your operational and technical capabilities, allowing you to share the business benefits with your organisation, faster.

Agenda

Migrating CloudFormation stacks to AWS CDK

Date: Wednesday, 22 Jun 2022
Time: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM AEST
Level: L200, Intermediate

AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) enables developers to define AWS Infrastructure as Code in familiar programming languages like TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, C#, and Java and enables you to define your infrastructure using higher-level abstractions. In this session, we look at how to write AWS CDK applications and how you can leverage CDK modules to migrate existing CloudFormation stacks to CDK code.

Migrating from self-managed Kubernetes to Amazon EKS

Date: Wednesday, 22 Jun 2022
Time: 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM AEST
Level: L300, Advanced

Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) reduces the undifferentiated heavy lifting of managing a Kubernetes Cluster and lets the application team focus on the business logic to deliver value to customers. In this session, we dive deep into the design and implementation differences to consider migrating from self-managed Kubernetes to Amazon EKS.

Building a CI/CD workflow for serverless applications

Date: Wednesday, 22 Jun 2022
Time: 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM AEST
Level: L300, Advanced

Continuous integration and continuous delivery are accepted best practices of building modern software. With serverless applications, building your CI and CD workflows becomes even easier and faster to get up and running with a code to production flow. In this session, we cover the basics of building a pipeline for your serverless applications as well as how you can use serverless in your pipelines. We cover the advanced capabilities of the AWS Code services and how you can modify your pipeline to use services such as AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions to handle complicated tasks and perform sophisticated workflows on each run.

Technical Level

Level 100
Introductory
Sessions are focused on providing an overview of AWS services and features, with the assumption that attendees are new to the topic.
Level 200
Intermediate
Sessions are focused on providing best practices, details of service features and demos with the assumption that attendees have introductory knowledge of the topics.
Level 300
Advanced
Sessions dive deeper into the selected topic. Presenters assume that the audience has some familiarity with the topic, but may or may not have direct experience implementing a similar solution.
Level 400
Expert
Sessions are for attendees who are deeply familiar with the topic, have implemented a solution on their own already, and are comfortable with how the technology works across multiple services, architectures, and implementations.
