Speeding and Simplifying the Software Procurement Cycle
Speeding and Simplifying the Software Procurement Cycle
In recent years, IT organizations have begun to transform business using digital technology building new strategies and business models. This digital transformation is driving more online analytics, transactions, and payments; leveraging more cloud-based infrastructure and software; increasing the proportion of remote workers; and expanding applications such as telemedicine. User demands are escalating, as they expect applications and data to be continuously available and quickly scalable, while businesses demand faster innovation with adherence to security, compliance, and governance mandates.
Cloud software can make organizations more agile, able to respond more quickly to changing market conditions to increase profitability. However, cumbersome corporate procurement processes can delay purchases, while having users circumvent these processes can result in lack of visibility, compromised security and compliance, overlapping functionality, and excess cost.
Key Findings:
- According to ESG research, 40% of respondents expect to replace data center infrastructure with more public cloud services. In addition, 54% of respondents said they are spending more now to implement long-term technology strategies that provide more flexible and resilient infrastructure to prepare for future business disruptions.
- AWS Marketplace is more than just a location for transactions; it was designed to transform the software supply chain for speed and simplicity, and to optimize and better manage cloud software.
- Custom Terms and Pricing helps streamline the software purchasing process, speeding time to value.
- Private Marketplaces contribute to improved procurement efficiency, making it simpler and faster for organizations to purchase software while ensuring corporate governance, branding, and compliance.
- ESG validated that AWS Marketplace integration with procurement systems like Coupa can streamline and speed software procurement while retaining corporate governance.
