Livestream agenda

  • Historical issues of supply chains across the globe were exacerbated in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Shippers have two basic questions: “Where’s my cargo?” and “How do I get more visibility?” In this session, hear from one of the world’s premier seaports, the Port of Long Beach. The seaport, located in Southern California, is leading the way in solving issues through its supply chain information highway, which enables supply chain participants by providing actionable, multi-source data for real-time updates and visibility, and helps solve their unique logistics problems and accelerate the flow of cargo.
  • The Federal National Mortgage Association, commonly known as Fannie Mae or FNMA, developed a cloud-centered architecture to enable data sharing and integration between AWS and Salesforce applications. Join Fannie Mae and AWS in this session to learn how this design approach has helped reduce and almost eliminate dependency on on-premises infrastructure and extract, transform, and load (ETL) tools, leading to gains in operational efficiency and reduction in costs.
  • Join Max Peterson, vice president of the AWS worldwide public sector at the Summit's opening keynote. In this address, he'll take a look at the latest innovative advancements happening across the public sector and share key learnings on how organizations like yours can continue to push boundaries with the cloud. Featured customer speakers include:
  • Shafiq Rab, MD, MPH, CHCIO, Executive Vice President, Chief Digital Officer, and System Chief Information Officer, Tufts Medicine
  • Pritha Mehra Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President United States Postal Service (USPS)
  • Quentin “Q” Donnellan President for Space and Defense Hypergiant
  • High-quality digital solutions help individuals and organizations of all kinds meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being through more equitable, sustainable, and inclusive recovery efforts. Technology has the potential to be a force multiplier for the advancement of health equity among the most underserved and underrepresented populations around the globe. In this breakout session, learn how a panel of global healthcare leaders advance their missions by harnessing the power of the cloud with AWS.
  • Once digital transformation has begun, open-source solutions and the cloud become force multipliers for enabling and accelerating that transformation. Reusing a proven open-source solution reduces lengthy and expensive procurement activities, while the cloud enables rapid deployment. In this session, hear case studies from around the world of successful use of open-source applications that have enabled and accelerated digital transformation within the public sector.
  • AWS makes it easy and cost-effective to launch and run some of the most popular and familiar file systems, without the physical infrastructure and maintenance of a traditional deployment. In this session, learn how to leverage the rich feature sets and fast performance of widely used open source and commercially licensed file systems, while avoiding time-consuming administrative tasks such as hardware provisioning, software configuration, patching, and backups. Come learn how AWS file systems provide cost-efficient capacity with high levels of reliability, while also integrating with the broader portfolio of AWS services.
  • Documents are used throughout public sector organizations and often have valuable information hidden within them. In this session, hear how Lawrence Livermore National Labs (LLNL) leveraged these paradigms to enable vaccination verification across heterogeneous document types to enable return to work. See examples of how public sector organizations can leverage Amazon AI services to provide recommendations and best practices for varied document types.
  • Keeping your workloads and data secure is key. In this session, we discuss solutions and use cases for confidential computing. Take a dive deep into hardware- and software-based solutions offered by AWS that help keep your systems secure. With capabilities such as the AWS Nitro System, AWS Nitro Enclaves, and NitroTPM, AWS offers protection for your code and sensitive data such as personally identifiable information, intellectual property, and financial and healthcare data. Use cases covered include multi-party computation (MPC), blockchain, machine learning (ML), crypto, secure wallet, and banking transactions.
  • Public sector organizations across the globe are modernizing their applications, and organizations across industries are looking to become more agile so they can innovate and respond to change faster. As part of designing any modern system on AWS, it is necessary to think about the security implications and the practices that can affect your security posture. In this session, learn key security principles when building modern applications. Learn from security best practices for AWS Fargate, AWS Lambda, and Amazon API Gateway.
  • Developers starting a new project on AWS have several choices to make. Selecting services and configuring them to follow AWS best practices and organizational standards requires both time and experience. In this session, dive into how PowerSchool developed AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) custom constructs to quickly build and deploy well-architected cloud-native apps. This effort lowered the barriers for application development teams to start building on AWS and accelerated the development of dozens of new projects.
