Empower yourself to build the .NET applications of tomorrow in the AWS Cloud. Join this full day in-person event to discover how you can leverage AWS products and services when building cloud-native .NET applications, allowing you to innovate and reduce costs. In the morning, hear from AWS experts about how to get started with .NET on AWS, how to split your monolithic applications into microservices, and how to port applications to .NET Core. Then, join an Art of the Possible session to find out how you can enhance customer experience, improve productivity and optimize business processes using AWS AI Services. In the afternoon, get hands-on with AWS services and build a series of .NET Core applications with step-by-step guidance from the AWS team.
Time Session
8:30am Arrivals and registration
9:00am Getting starting with .NET on AWS
.NET developers are increasingly moving away from building applications for on-premises hosting to architectures that use the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. If you are new to building .NET applications in a cloud-native environment, or if you would like a refresher on the basics of deploying, managing, and securing .NET applications on AWS, this is the session for you. You will walk away with an understanding of the AWS services, developer tools, APIs, and IDEs that support your .NET development in the AWS cloud, and be ready to think about the art of the possible.
9:45am Splitting a monolithic ASP.NET MVC application into microservices
Legacy monolithic .NET Framework applications are common in many organizations, and splitting these monolith applications into smaller fine-grained microservices is an important part of the modernization journey for these organizations. In this session we share how AWS Microservice Extractor for .NET simplifies the process of refactoring applications into independent services, to help organisations better scale their applications.
10:30am Introducing Porting Assistant for .NET
Porting Assistant for .NET is an analysis tool that scans .NET Framework applications and generates a .NET Core compatibility assessment, helping you port your applications to Linux faster. Learn how you can port .NET Framework applications to .NET Core and take advantage of the performance, cost savings, and robust ecosystem of Linux, by using Porting Assistant for .NET. In this session, we share how to use Porting Assistant to quickly scan .NET Framework applications and identify incompatibilities with .NET Core, find known replacements, and generate a detailed compatibility assessment to reduce the manual effort involved in modernizing your applications to Linux.
11:45am AWS AI Services for .NET
Whether you want to enhance your customer experience, improve productivity and optimize business processes, or speed up and scale up innovation, AWS offers the most complete set of artificial intelligence (AI) services to meet your business needs. In this session, learn how you can add capabilities like image and video analysis, natural language processing, personalized recommendations and translation, virtual assistants, and speech recognition capability to your applications as standalone services or create sophisticated human-like functionality.
12:30pm Lunch break
