Join us for a welcome by Dr. Werner Vogels, CTO, Amazon.com, and an opening keynote from Michael Kogeler, Sub-Saharan Africa General Manager, who will be speaking about the AWS Africa Region, customers and partners in the market. Following the keynote, dive deep in 14 breakout sessions across 3 tracks including, a business executive track and 2 technical tracks which will cover getting started, building advanced architectures, modern app development, DevOps and more. All sessions will be available in English.

Dr. Werner Vogels is Chief Technology Officer at Amazon.com, where he is responsible for driving the company's customer-centric technology vision.

As one of the forces behind Amazon's approach to cloud computing, he is passionate about helping young businesses reach global scale, and transforming enterprises into fast-moving digital organizations.

Since October 2019, Michael Kogeler is General Manager for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Sub-Sahara Africa (SSA), a subregion of the AWS Emerging Markets (EEM) region. This SSA region is composed of 47 countries of which some are the fastest growing countries in Africa.

About Cobus Bernard

Cobus is a Senior Developer Advocate at AWS empowering developers to learn and understand how best to use AWS. His primary interests are in security, containers and DevOps. Prior to joining AWS, he was a customer for 8 years building in the FinTech, HealthCare and Online Gaming space. During his 15 years of software development, he has worked on C#/Java backends, done a bit of Android / iOS app development and some game development, one which is available on Steam. In the last few years he has focussed on spreading DevOps best practices and helping companies adopt them. Founder of the Cape Town DevOps Meetup group and co-organiser of DevOpsDays Cape Town.

About Isabel Huerga Ayza

Isabel is a Developer Advocate at AWS and has more than 15 years of experience in the IT industry. During her career, she has held a variety of roles from Systems and Network Administrator, Architect of physical and virtual environments and Technical Account Manager. Isabel has witnessed the evolution of cloud technology from multiple perspectives and is passionate about engaging with customers and helping them succeed.

About Sohan Maheshwar

Sohan is a Developer Advocate based out of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is deeply passionate about emerging technologies and how it is shaping the world around us. He frequently works with developers in startups, ISVs, and enterprises on their cloud strategy. He previously worked as an Alexa Evangelist at Amazon, and has been in the developer relations space since 2013.

About Phil Le-Brun

Phil works with enterprise executives to share experiences and strategies for how the cloud can help them increase speed and agility while devoting more of their time to their customers. Phil regularly speaks on topics ranging from technology and transformation strategies through to leadership and organisational design, and writes frequently on the AWS Enterprise Blog. Phil is still a geek at heart with multiple AWS certifications, a solder iron, and infrequent Python coding.

About Jonathan Allen

Jonathan works with enterprise technology executives around the globe to share experiences and strategies for how the cloud can help them increase speed and agility while devoting more of their resources to their customers. Whenever Jonathan speaks with customers about cloud strategy, he starts by talking about people, processes, and technology. He finds that the latter two are typically more straightforward to plan and that they also begin and end with people.
