Overview

The AWS Security Event 2021 will teach you how to improve your security and reduce your risk in the cloud. Join us for hands-on workshops and technical competitions that combine foundational best practices with the latest techniques. This is our main security event in 2021. Join from whichever location works best for you. The event starts with a brief introduction by the AWS team, followed by you diving deep into the workshops or competitions in the order and pace that suits you. During the event, AWS staff will be online and available to answer your questions and provide assistance.

For this event, we have two styles of learning (guided workshops and the competitive jam) for three experience levels (100 level introductory, 200 level intermediate and 300 level advanced) and two different weeks. Pick the date, the level and the experience that suits you best.

Agenda

AWS Security and Security Partner Workshops (Level 100-200)

Date: Thursday, 9 Sep 2021
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM AEST / 9:00AM - 1:00 PM SGT
Location: Online webinar

AWS Security and Security Partner Workshops are thoroughly documented environments that give you practical experience with a range of AWS cloud security configurations and services. They are aimed at security practitioners who want more experience in the cloud, or cloud practitioners that want more experience with security. These workshops are appropriate for people that have heard about AWS security services, for example AWS Network Firewall or Amazon GuardDuty, but who want more hands-on experience with these services. Pick from your choice of over 10 different workshops, and complete one or more at a pace that suits you.

AWS Jam (Level 200-300)

Date: Thursday, 16 Sep 2021
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM AEST / 9:00AM - 1:00 PM SGT
Location: Online webinar

AWS Jam is an event where participants experience a wide range of AWS services in a series of prepared scenarios that represent common security usecases. The event is gamified, with teams competing to score points by completing a series of challenges over the course of the event. AWS provides access to pre-created infrastructure that is based on common use cases that participants use to determine what happened, how to best respond, and deploy appropriate solutions. The challenges have varying degrees of difficulty and points associated with them. A live leader-board provides updates on stats and progress. Clues and guidance help your participants move through the challenges. The AWS Security Jam is appropriate for people who are experienced with AWS and cloud security and want to test their skills. This is a timed and competitive event, so pick your teams and prepare to be challenged.
