Level 300 | Service Deep Dive
Microcontroller-based devices can benefit from connecting to the cloud, to take advantage of cloud services like device management and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Because internet connected devices like this can be in the field for a long time, they must be updated periodically for bug fixes and new functionality. These updates need to be secured with features like code signing, which can verify the signed OTA image on the device to ensure your code is not compromised during and after deployment. Amazon FreeRTOS provides libraries for OTA updates and code signing out of the box - join us to learn more about this and see a demo!

Learning Objectives:
• Use the AWS IoT console to provide a firmware image, select the devices to update, and schedule the update
• Use the code signing feature to verify the signed image on the device to ensure your device code is not compromised before and after deployment and updates
• Remotely update microcontroller-based devices with feature enhancements or security patches
