If you’re running out of storage capacity, or retiring one or more storage arrays, AWS offers ways to replace your traditional NAS with cloud-based file storage or a hybrid cloud storage architecture. When moving file data to the cloud, you need to understand the types of data you are moving, where the data will be moved to, and the network resources available, among other considerations. The suite of data transfer services offered by AWS can help you simplify and migrate your file data more effectively, whether your data is going to Amazon EFS, Amazon FSx for Windows File Server, Amazon S3, or its S3 Glacier storage classes. In this tech talk, we’ll explain these destination services in brief, and demo how you can use AWS DataSync and AWS Storage Gateway to easily and securely move your file data into AWS for file services, processing, analytics, machine learning, and archiving, as well as providing on-premises access where needed.
