HTTP APIs from Amazon API Gateway are optimized for serverless workloads and HTTP backends, and they offer up to 70% cost savings and 60% latency reduction compared to REST APIs from API Gateway. While HTTP APIs are most often the best choice for building RESTful APIs, there are a few specific use cases when builders should consider using REST APIs. In this tech talk, you’ll learn how to build APIs using HTTP APIs, how to determine whether HTTP APIs or REST APIs are right for your use case, how to set up custom domains for HTTP APIs, and how take advantage of additional new features available for HTTP APIs.
