HTTP APIs from Amazon API Gateway are optimized for serverless workloads and HTTP backends, and they offer up to 70% cost savings and 60% latency reduction compared to REST APIs from API Gateway. While HTTP APIs are most often the best choice for building RESTful APIs, there are a few specific use cases when builders should consider using REST APIs.
