Title & Headline

Developers and engineers typically need to prioritize their schedules when testing new workloads. With the Graviton Challenge, it is often the case to provide some extra time - four days to be exact. In light of this, we've created an email template for use when sending to leadership, requesting time to participate in the Graviton Challenge. Please leverage the email template below and update as needed.

Here is the template:

Hi [leader's name],

I'm reaching out to you to seek permission to participate in the Graviton Challenge.

AWS Graviton2-based EC2 processors are custom designed by AWS to enable the best price performance for workloads in Amazon EC2. AWS Graviton2-based EC2 instances provide up to 40% better price performance over comparable x86-based instances for a wide variety of workloads. The Graviton Challenge is a step-by-step plan that will help me adopt Graviton2-based EC2 instances. By the end of the fourth day, I will have benchmarked the price performance gains of running on Graviton2 and will have started production deployment of our application on Graviton2.

With your permission, I would like to work with and migrate to Graviton2-based EC2 instances. I believe that adopting AWS Graviton2-based instances will help our team reduce infrastructure spend while boosting the performance of our applications, and taking the Graviton Challenge is the first step toward that goal. I will be spending time on the Graviton Challenge from <xx/xx> to <xx/xx> and hope to share benchmark data with you soon.

Here’s more information on AWS Graviton2 and the Graviton Challenge.

Watch Don MacAskill, CEO SmugMug and Flickr, and Valentino Volonghi, CTO NextRoll, talk about their Graviton2 adoption.

Sincerely,
[your name]
