AWS offers migration resources for current GameSparks customers:

On July 22, 2021, we informed you that new account sign-ups and game creations for GameSparks have been disabled at this time.

Starting October 1, 2022, access to the GameSparks console will no longer be available. All existing games running on the platform and game data will need to be migrated before this date to avoid impacts to game development and player connectivity.

AWS will help connect GameSparks customers with AWS Consulting Partners that can help with migration. More specifically:

  • A network of experienced AWS Consulting Partners vetted by AWS will provide a recommendation on an optimal migration path for your games.
  • Consulting Partners can also connect you with AWS Technology Partners, so you can migrate your games to alternative backend services. Learn more about AWS Technology Partners.

The current GameSparks service will continue operating as-is for existing customers and games with no changes in service quality, subject to the following important dates:

  • March 31, 2022: On this date, we will disable publishing new games to the Live stage and will no longer support game launch service limit increases. Games published to the Live stage before March 31, 2022 can continue to publish new Live snapshots until September 30, 2022.
