With the growing popularity of hybrid/remote work and pressure to “do more with less”, many IT organizations look to Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) as a cost-effective means of providing the desktops and applications employees need to do their best work.
In order to help organizations build effective end-user computing strategies, IDC evaluated the strategies and capabilities of 9 vendors in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Desktop-as-a-Service 2022-2023 Vendor Assessment (doc #US49857622, December 2022).
AWS (Amazon.com) is named a Leader, with the report noting, “Amazon’s Workspace Family provides a highly configurable set of solutions with an emphasis on using endpoint tools for management and infrastructure as code to deliver desktops when and where needed.”
IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.
