Opening Keynote
Jeff Barr: Building a Culture of Innovation for MediaAs media companies evolve, the products, services, solutions – and the skill sets of the engineers using them – must evolve too. Meanwhile, impatient viewers anticipate that media innovations will keep up with their demands. So what's holding M&E companies back from innovating at the pace of their audiences' expectations? In this session designed for media business leaders, AWS presents common blockers to innovation and demonstrates how some AWS media trailblazers have used the cloud not just as infrastructure, but as a launch pad for creating a culture of innovation.

Presenters:
Jeff Barr, VP & Chief Evangelist, AWS
Michael Callahan, Head of Media Solutions Marketing, AWS

Video Transcoding with High Quality, Low Cost & Speed

Whether your audiences watch video in home theaters, on living room TV sets, or on mobile devices, multiscreen viewing is proliferating. And as the range and resolution of display devices increases to 4K and beyond, and compression formats and features like HDR add complexity, video compression times get lengthier. Can you get high quality, low cost, and fast turnaround in a VOD transcoder? In this session, you learn you can using AWS Elemental MediaConvert and several of its new features including QVBR, RTS, and Accelerated Transcoding.
