What to expect

By following the recommended learning schedule, the first three weeks of the program will prepare you to take the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam. This industry-recognised certification validates your overall understanding of the AWS Cloud and your ability to contribute to an organisation’s cloud initiatives.  

Starting in week four, you’ll begin learning how to architect a solution on AWS and gain practical experience. By the end of week 12, you’ll be prepared to take the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate exam. This certification validates your ability to design resilient, high-performing, secure, and cost-optimized architectures in the AWS Cloud.

Note both exams above are optional and the costs for these are not included in the program.

A: The challenge is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age and reside in one of the following countries: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe. Anyone who registers for the Get AWS Certified - Sub-Saharan Africa Challenge between 30 September and 3 December 2021 can participate in the training sessions and webinars and the first 6,000 participants are eligible for the free practice exam and certification exam vouchers. Terms and conditions apply.
A: Registration will be open from 30 September, 2021 to 3 December 2021. To be recognized for meeting the Get AWS Certified - Sub-Saharan Africa Challenge, take and pass your AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam on or before 17th of December, 2021.
A: The first 6,000 participants who request vouchers are eligible to take the practice exam and certification exam for AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner for free. You can request your voucher here. You must request your vouchers using the same email address you signed up for the Get AWS Certified - Sub-Saharan Africa Challenge. If you already have a voucher, such as one from your employer or as a benefit from earning a prior AWS Certification, please note only one voucher can be used in a single claim.

A: A practice exam is an opportunity to test your knowledge online in a timed environment by taking the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner practice exam. You can then review your score report to inform your self-study. To earn the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification, participants must take and pass the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam.
A: All training, review sessions, and preparation resources are optional for participants. The training curriculum provided is a recommended path of courses you can take. If you feel ready to take the certification exam, you can go ahead and schedule your exam as soon as you feel prepared.

A: There is no cost to register or participate in the training and preparation sessions for the Get AWS Certified - Sub-Saharan Africa Challenge. The first 6,000 participants are eligible for a free AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner practice exam and a free AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification exam (terms and conditions apply). To earn the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification, participants must take and pass the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam, which costs 100 USD (or free, when applying the free exam voucher).
A: We offer exams through two test delivery providers, Pearson VUE and PSI. Both test delivery providers offer the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam for candidates to take in testing centers or at home via online proctoring. The free voucher is limited to use at Pearson VUE only (terms and conditions apply). Learn more about your testing options here.
A: We provide digital badges on Credly’s digital badging platform as a benefit of earning an AWS Certification to help you showcase your achievement. You can add your digital badge to your professional profiles, digital resumes, or email signatures. You can also share your digital badge as a post on social media to celebrate with your network.
A: Only one voucher code can be requested and redeemed for the Get AWS Certified - Sub-Saharan Africa Challenge. We encourage you to test your knowledge online in a timed environment by taking the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner practice exam and review your score report to inform your self-study. As part of the challenge, we are offering a free practice exam voucher to the first 6,000 participants (terms and conditions apply). This will be sent to you via email with step-by-step instructions for redeeming. If you still need to request your voucher, you can submit your request here.
