About the Event

In this IoT webinar series, we’ll explain how to use AWS services at the edge to unlock data and send it to the cloud for further processing, and how AWS IoT Greengrass seamlessly extends AWS to edge devices so they can perform locally while using the cloud for management, analytics, and durable storage.

Our experts will show you how to provision AWS IoT Greengrass and discuss how AWS IoT SiteWise enables it to transfer data to the cloud. In addition, they will demo how data is ingested into and pulled out of AWS IoT SiteWise; show you how to build a dashboard; and explain how to send data from different protocols into a data lake for processing. Additionally, Reply – an AWS Partner – will discuss how to ingest thousands of messages per second with low latency into the AWS Cloud.

Learning Objectives

You’ll learn how to leverage AWS edge services to transfer data into the AWS Cloud for further processing.

Who should attend

These Level 300-400 sessions are recommended for solutions architects, developers, administrators, data architects or shop floor managers who build, configure, operate, or consume data using AWS services.

Session Overview

Create and Manage AWS IoT Greengrass Deployments with AWS SDK for Python (Boto3)

In this session, you’ll learn on how to use AWS SDK for Python (Boto3) to model and provision your AWS application resources by writing Python code. It will include the execution of the following tasks:

  • Create and configure a AWS IoT Greengrass group
  • Define and configure AWS Lambda functions to run on AWS IoT Greengrass Core
  • Set up subscriptions for communication between AWS Lambda functions and AWS IoT Core Set up AWS IoT Greengrass Machine Learning and a machine learning model
  • Configure connectivity between AWS IoT Greengrass Core and other on-premise devices
  • Deploy an AWS IoT Greengrass group to AWS IoT Greengrass Core on your edge device.

New Features for AWS IoT SiteWise

At re:Invent, we announced new features for AWS IoT SiteWise that provide the capability to collect data from industrial equipment, add context to data using asset models, use data in custom applications, and view data in near real-time through a fully managed web application. Join this session for a closer look at these new features, plus demos.

From the Shopfloor to the Data Lake – A Journey of a Machine to the Cloud

In this session, you’ll learn different ways to process and transfer data efficiently from the shop floor to the cloud:

  • Use different protocols and software technologies to connect to machines
  • Pre-process data and run software combined with the cloud at low latency in a factory
  • Discover technologies and services that connect small and large, and nearby and remote sites with the cloud
  • Process and store data in a data lake in the cloud

We’ll show you how to use AWS IoT services – from AWS IoT Greengrass and AWS IoT SiteWise, to AWS Outposts and AWS Lake Formation – to build an end-to-end use case. You’ll get the technical insights you need to build a distributed solution – with no heavy lifting required.
